4 Buildings Damaged In Cairo Fire

CAIRO, NE -- The Cairo and Wood River Fire Departments are still on scene at a fire that has destroyed four buildings in Cairo.

Fire crews told NBC Nebraska on scene that the call came in around 3:30pm Tuesday. When they arrived on scene near 190th and Airport Road, multiple structures were engulfed in flames.

According to the Wood River Fire Department, four buildings are total losses and the content in three buildings are destroyed. Luckily, the fire did not reach the farmhouse and no one was home at the time.

A farmer saw the smoke from a few miles away, drove up to the property, and called 911. We will continue to follow this developing story and update you when information becomes available.
