UPDATE: Four Teenagers Arrested After Armed Robbery In Blue Hill

Four teenage boys have been arrested in connection with an armed robbery at the Ampride convenience store on Wednesday.

BLUE HILL, Neb. -- Four teenage boys have been arrested in connection with an armed robbery at the Ampride convenience store in Blue Hill on Wednesday.

According to the Webster County Attorney, three of the teenage boys are from Hastings and one was from out of town. They were arrested on Saturday on various warrants.

Two of the boys are charged with robbery and use of a weapon to commit a felony. The two others are charged with aiding and abetting, a Class 2 felony, and use of a weapon to commit a felony. The Webster County Attorney says all four boys are charged as adults, and if found guilty could face up to 50 years in prison.

The armed robbers targeted the Ampride Country Store and Cenex gas station on North Willson Street in Blue Hill late Wednesday night.

"There's maybe an incident once or twice a year in Blue Hill that you would call significant crime, break-ins that type of thing but I would consider that low," said Tim Thramer, owner of Thramer's Food Center in downtown Blue Hill. He says he hasn't seen in armed robbery in the small town in at least six or seven years, until Wednesday night.

The Webster County Attorney says one teenage boy has already been arraigned. The rest are scheduled to appear in court this week.
