LINCOLN, Neb-- A truck has overturned and a car was badly damaged in a ditch near Highway 6 and the I-80 Interchange, outside of Waverly, Nebraska Tuesday. Lancaster County Sheriffs were on the scene assisting with traffic.
Traffic coming off of I-80 and on Highway 6 has been backed up and sheriffs are rerouting cars. Parts of Westbound Highway 6 are blocked off to traffic. Eastbound traffic on Highway 6 is moving slowly.
Officials say that Westbound lanes will be open at 6 p.m.
Emergency crews took two passengers who were riding in the damaged car to a Lincoln hospital. Both have been treated and released. The driver of the trick is not hurt, but was ticketed for violating a traffic light.
The overturned truck was hauling rocks and large chunks of cement. Tow trucks are now on the scene, along with crews cleaning up.
